You can ask us to delete your entire account, or just specific data. Pick the option that fits below.
Delete your account and all its data
To permanently delete your account and everything tied to it — your shop, products, events, orders, connected accounts (Instagram, Google, WhatsApp, Acuity), messages, and settings — email us from the address on your account with the subject “Account deletion request”:
We'll verify it's you and confirm within 30 days, then permanently erase your account and its data. Backups roll off within 90 days. This can't be undone.
Delete specific data
We also store Instagram DM data on behalf of the shop owner who connected their account. To remove just that data without closing your account, use the options below — as a shop owner, or as someone who messaged a shop that uses Tend.
If you're a shop owner
You have two options:
- Revoke access from Instagram.Open Instagram → Settings → Apps and Websites → Active, find Tend, and tap Remove. Meta sends us a deauthorization signal and we immediately drop your stored access token. Your conversation history will be deleted within 30 days; backups roll off within 90 days.
- Email us. Send a deletion request from the email address linked to your Instagram account to hello@tendto.you with the subject line “Data deletion request”. We'll confirm within 30 days, then delete all data associated with your account on the same timeline as above.
If you messaged a shop that uses Tend
Your DM content reached us only because the shop you messaged chose to use Tend to handle their inbox. The shop is the controller of that data. The fastest route is usually to ask the shop directly to delete the conversation from their end.
If you can't reach the shop, or you'd rather we action it ourselves, email hello@tendto.you with:
- Your Instagram handle.
- The shop's Instagram handle.
- (Optional) Approximate date of the conversation.
We'll verify the request, notify the shop, and delete the conversation content within 30 days.
Meta's automated flow
Meta also exposes a data-deletion request flow inside Instagram. We honour those signals via the data-deletion callback registered with our Meta app. If you've gone through that flow, you don't need to also email us.
Confirmation
We'll send a confirmation email when deletion is complete. If you don't hear from us within 30 days, please follow up at hello@tendto.you.
